Stanhope is a linear settlement a little over a mile in length in an East-West direction on the A689.

We are located at the western end of Stanhope on an unnamed "no through road", where the B6278 intersects the A689 at a staggered junction.

For directions from the C2C cycle route please see the location map and opposite.

If your route is along the A689, DO NOT turn onto the B6278.

Sat Nav's

If you use our postcode "DL13 2EZ", your Sat Nav will bring you to the doorstep.

However, whilst rare, a few Sat Nav's think we are located on the B6278. We are not. If you are in Stanhope on the A689 and the Sat Nav directs you onto the B6278 IGNORE IT. At which point in time you will probably be located outside the "Grey Bull" public house, see opposite for directions.

Multimaps, Google Maps, etc.

The AA route Planner and MultiMap have a good route map and directions.

This is not the case with Google Maps Uk. The route map is OK, but the directions ask you to turn onto the B6278 as per the Sat Nav's mentioned above. Once in Stanhope IGNORE THE DIRECTIONS.

Directions upon entering Stanhope from the West (Eastgate, Rookhope, C2C Cycle Route)

Upon entering the 30 mph zone on the A689, which is the entry route into Stanhope for the C2C cycle route from Rookhope, within 200 metres you will arrive at a junction with the B6278 on the right. See photo below.

B&B, Stanhope B&B, Stanhope

At this junction turn LEFT up the unnamed "no through road" (see photo on the left), and continue uphill for 0.75 mile. We are the first entrance on the left. Sign posted "Belle Vue Farm". (We are not a working farm).

If you miss this left turn from the A689, within 300 metres you will be at the "Grey Bull" public house. Turn round.

C2C's please note the "Grey Bull" is where the C2C route turns left onto the B6278 up Crawleyside.

Directions upon entering Stanhope from the East (Wolsingham, Frosterley)

Upon entering Stanhope (petrol station on the left) continue on the A689 for approx 0.9 mile. In doing so you will have travelled through the market square, passed the fire station, and the "Grey Bull" public house and a junction with the B6278 on the right, to arrive at another junction with the B6278 on the left. See photo below.

B&B, Stanhope B&B, Stanhope

At this junction turn RIGHT up the unnamed "no through road" (see photo on the left), and continue uphill for 0.75 mile. We are the first entrance on the left. Sign posted "Belle Vue Farm". (We are not a working farm).

If you miss this right turn from the A689, within 200 metres you will be outside the 30mph zone. Turn round and follow the directions "Stanhope from the West".
